Refund policy

Thank you for shopping with Motobean Coffee Roasters.  We hope you are happy with your purchase.  We take pride in providing high-quality coffee and exceptional customer service. We understand that sometimes things don’t go as expected, so we want to make our return policy clear and straightforward:

1. Coffee & Perishable Goods

Due to the perishable nature of freshly roasted coffee, we do not accept returns or offer refunds for "change of mind" on any coffee beans or ground coffee products.

  • Damaged or Incorrect Orders: If your coffee arrives damaged or we have sent the incorrect roast/grind, please contact us at info@motobean.com.au within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo of the product. We will arrange a replacement or refund immediately.
  • Quality Concerns: If you feel the quality of the coffee is not up to our usual high standards, please reach out to the above email or phone.  We will ask for roast details (on the bottom of the bag) to investigate with our roasting team.

2. Hardware, Brewing Equipment & Merchandise

For non-perishable items (e.g., grinders, brewers, Motobean tins, or apparel), you have 30 days from the date of purchase to request a return.

  • Eligibility: To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, in the same condition that you received it, and in its original packaging.
  • Change of Mind: For change of mind returns on hardware, the customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping. Once inspected and approved, a refund will be issued to your original payment method (minus original shipping costs).
  • Faulty Items: If an item is faulty or breaks due to a manufacturing defect, it is covered under the Australian Consumer Law. We will provide a repair, replacement, or refund depending on the severity of the fault.

3. Subscriptions

You can manage, skip, or cancel your Motobean subscription at any time through your customer portal.

  • Cancellations: Please ensure you cancel or skip at least 24 hours before your next billing date. Once a subscription order has been processed and roasted, we cannot offer a refund for that specific delivery.

4. Returns Process

To start a return, please follow these steps:

  1. Email info@motobean.com.au with your order number and the reason for the return.
  2. If approved, we will provide you with the return address (Ravenhall, Victoria).
  3. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

5. Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, the refund will be processed automatically to your original payment method within 5-7 business days.
